Kelly Garrett Rathbone was born in Singapore, grew up all over the world, and calls Texas home.

She studied at Parsons School of Design in NYC, The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina and The Florence Academy of Art in Italy.

She was the 2008 recipient of the Howard Kottler Scholarship at Watershed Center for Ceramics in Newcastle, Maine, and in 2009 was the recipient of the Matsutani Fellowship at the Archie Bray Foundation in Helena, Montana. She is currently a resident of San Marcos, Texas.

Kevin’s demos will be on developing drawings on greenware to produce intricate, layered surfaces by overlapping mishima, sgraffi and underglaze techniques on tiles.

Kevin Snipes was born in Philadelphia, but grew up mostly in Cleveland, Ohio. He received a B.F.A. in ceramics and drawing from the Cleveland Institute of Art in 1994.

Kevin has participated in several artist residency programs, including the Clay Studio, in Philadelphia and Watershed Center for Ceramic Arts, in New Castle, Maine and received a Taunt Fellowship from the Archie Bray Foundation in Montana 2008. Exhibiting both nationally and internationally, including a recent solo exhibition at the Society of Arts and Craft, Boston; Akar, Iowa City and Duane Reed Gallery in St. Louis. Kevin has exhibited as far away as Jingdezhen, China. Kevin combines his love of constructing unconventional pottery with an obsessive need to draw on everything that he produces, creating a uniquely dynamic body of work. He currently resides in Chicago, IL.

Kevin and Kelly will demonstrate side by side to encourage a relaxed dialog that everyone can participate in.
