Nita Carlson

“I played in the mud a lot when I was a kid and in high school I fell in love with clay. I got a teaching degree with emphasis in clay from Western Michigan University and taught my love of art for the next ten yers in Michigan, Switzerland, Norway, and Portugal.

My terminal degree is an MFA in Illustration from the Savannah College of Art and Design. I am currently working on a children’s book and teaching as an Arizona Artist in Residence. I have been working in cement sculpture for about 12 years, exploring mosaic and large scale public art.”

NITA WILL BE TEACHING A CONCRETE/MOSAIC WORKSHOP ON MAY 22 AND 23.
