For 23 years Lisa Orr has been a professional potter and student of ceramics. She completed an MFA at the NYSCC at Alfred University in 1992 and later received grants including a Fullbright and a MAAA/NEA. Her work is in numerous public and private collections including the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco and the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts. Currently she resides in Austin, Texas and teaches, lectures, and shows nationally.

Lisa Orr will wow audiences with her “thinking negative” style of pottery making.  She will carve into clay to make molds (negative spaces) and then throw and press into them to create her pottery similar to Mexican folk potters whose work she admires.
